Two Lions from WWII
The monuments - The expressionist sculptor Jacob Adelhart received orders from the Nazi state about 1941 to make four lions with coats of arms for the bridgeheads of the Salzburg State Bridge.
Only two of the lions were completed, and after the war sold to Linz and erected in front of the trainstation.
Calls for the removal of the lions in the course of the renovation of the Linz main train station in 1999 were loud, but a majority were to keep the historic monuments
