The stories about Roennede Kro date back to 1645, however the buildings as they are today, were built by Gisselfeld Monastery in 1825. Roennede Kro was royal privileged, which meant that the inn had to be available for travelers in regards to supplying meals, accommodation and room for the traveller’s horses as that was the way they travelled back then. But only travellers had access to the inn – hence it was said that the locals were not allowed entrance!
Fortunately, much has happened since, and today the doors are open to the beautiful inn for both travelers and locals.
