Hans Christian Andersen Castle in Copenhagen, Denmark
Carl Jacobsen is remembered for his role as the head of Carlsberg Brewery but also his passion for art and philanthropy. He established generous art scholarships, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek sculpture museum, was a director of the National Art Gallery and provided a grant for constructing this building in 1893 for the Danish Museum of Art. It was purchased in 1978 by Tivoli, the adjacent amusement park, and renamed Hans Christian Anderson Castle.
