Christmas is always a high point of the calendar at d’Angleterre. The grey November dark is swept away with festive lights, and the cold draws in over the city. On Kgs. Nytorv it is Hotel d’Angleterre, which has the job of providing the seasonal atmosphere – and the Christmas decorations on the hotel’s façade are an annual event, which for many Copenhageners is synonymous with Christmas having finally arrived. For many people, the ligts and the fairy tale taking shape on the walls facing the square are enough – but when you step inside the doors, you can see that the adventure has only just begun.
