Staircase to the Tower
With its 105.6 metres, Copenhagen City Hall is one of the tallest buildings in Copenhagen. There are about 300 steps from the sidewalk and up to the tower, which gives you a view of Tivoli Gardens and the inner city.
The Copenhagen City Hall is thought of as the palace of the citizens and is built by Danish architect Martin Nyrop from 1892 to 1905. The big clock of City Hall Tower is where Danes turn their attention on the last day in December when they celebrate the New Year.
Every brick, decoration, carving and symbol has its place in the story of the citizen’s role in the history of Copenhagen.
