We honor the fallen
Kastellet, located in Copenhagen, Denmark is one of the best preserved star fortresses in Northern Europe. It is constructed in the form of a pentagram with bastions at its corners. Kastellet was continuous with the ring of bastioned ramparts which used to encircle Copenhagen but of which only the ramparts of Christianshavn remain today.

In respect of the many Danes, who have been deployed to conflict- and catastrophe areas, for the currently deployed, for those who will be deployed in future and for those who fell in service, a monument by artist Finn Reinbothe and was consecrated September 5, 2011.
Finn Reinbothe’s monument consists of three spaces, defined by granite-covered walls with build-in lighting as follows: -One for larger ceremonies – with the inscription ”One time – One place – One human being” (En tid – Et sted – Et menneske). -One for the currently deployed personnel –with a pilot light consisting of a lit torch and inscriptions with names on the conflict- and catastrophe areas. -One for the memory and reflection of the bereaved – with inscriptions of the names of the fallen
